Mission Statement

Russian-speaking Jewish Community of SF Bay Area (RSJC-SF Bay) was formed by Russian-speaking Jewish immigrants in January 2003 as a non-profit charitable corporation.

It was formed with the mission to unite Russian-speaking Jewish immigrants into a vibrant Jewish community that rooted in the tenets & principles of Judaism;

to serve as an umbrella organization for the Jewish immigrants from the former Soviet Union in San Francisco Bay Area to advocate for their needs and rights with various levels of government;

to inspire a stronger connection to Israel, Jewish peoplehood, Jewish heritage and Jewish values through accessible, meaningful and engaging educational & outreach programs that are uniquely tailored to the cultural background of the Jewish immigrants from the former USSR & their children;

Through meaningful connections, engaging experiences and innovative educational programs we aim to strengthen Jewish continuity, combat assimilation and inspire a stronger connection to Israel, Jewish peoplehood and Jewish heritage that will result in the deeper sense of belonging among the Russian-speaking Jewish families and individuals that reside in San Francisco Bay Area

With the establishment of our MENORAH Community Center we are able to provide Russian-speaking Jews with a comfortable venue to mark Judaic lifecycle events, celebrate Jewish culture, empower them to explore their Jewish roots and deepen their Judaic knowledge, observance & religious practice.
